Melissa L. Garcia Project Manager / Web Designer + Developer Fluent in English and Spanish Self-motivated and highly creative, Melissa has been working with local non-profit organizations for over three years – both as a web designer for the Vancouver Community Network (VCN) and as a freelancer. Her time management skills and commitment to the webteam since its inception mean that each client has their needs addressed in a fast and friendly manner. Recognizing her ability to take on responsibility, Melissa was asked by VCN to put together the team in early 2008, and now draws heavily from her background in non-profit work to establish a professional, flexible dynamic between herself and the client. Hugues Deraps Lead Project Manager, Web Consultant (SEO)and Multimedia Designer Fluent in English and French Since joining the webteam in fall 2008, Hugues has consistently drawn upon his passion and inspiration to see that each customer’s vision is made a reality. With threefold expertise in web & print design, photography, and outstanding customer service, with five years experience as a web designer and a certificate in multimedia, Hugues is an asset to the webteam. Wibke Kreft Lead Graphic and Concept Designer With international work experience and multi-disciplinary design skills, Wibke is highly proficient and up-to-date in all key graphic design programs, with an excellent ability to handle all stages of a design project - from concept to final print -in a timely manner. Beginning her professional career in 2002, Wibke has since worked passionately with small and medium businesses and non-profit organizations alike. She joined the webteam in February of 2010, and in addition to her exceptional talent, Wibke brings with her a fondness for bright pink (Pantone 213 C) and German beer. Wibke’s vision is to make the word prettier through expedient design. |
Jonathan Taggart Writer / Photographer Jonathan’s photojournalism work centers on issues of social justice and for years has provided ideal opportunities for crossover into the non-profit sector. An accomplished writer and photographer, his work for the VCN|webteam includes streamlining written content, managing / implementing social media, and all manner of photographic services, from headshots to event photography. Jonathan holds a BFA in Photography from Ryerson University and currently teaches photography to at-risk youth as a volunteer with Vancouver’s Urban Native Youth Association. |
