This crossmedia exhibition and web project remixes Labour, Work, and Working People: A Working Class and Labour History Walking Tour using Web 2.0 strategies to expand the number of voices hear and stories told. Video: ACCESS W2 TV Included in Nugget Peak Scale: n experience. The video is a bit of foolishness while at the $haw editing FearlessTV, a W2 Community Media Arts Society, DTES-CAN Downtown Community Arts Network and ACCESS-TV (Association of Chinese Canadians for Equality and Solidarity Society) co-production. Event: W2 at SFU Cultural Research Salon: ging DTES community. Opening in September 2009, W2 will be a unique cultural hub offering quality arts opportunities for the Downtown Eastside (DTES) and Vancouver residents through a range of interdisciplinary and media arts programs, resources and activities. W2 is currently planned as a 12,500 square foot facility, providing a vibrant complementary focal point in the Woodwards’ redevelopment (which includes SFU), and a flagship project in the City's revitalization of the DTES. Negotiations are ongoing with W2’s partner, the City of Vancouver, to secure additional space for community programming from associate member organizations. Core member organizations include: Redwire Native Youth Media, Gallery Gachet, Coop Radio/CRES (Community Radio Education), Kootenay School of Writing, Vancouver Community Network, IMAGeNation/Indigenous Media Arts Group, Independent Community Television (ICTV), Society for Disability Arts & Culture, and CHAKRAS/teaspace Society. * Seating is limited at this event.
