Event Description

RespondencyWest: a unique lecture and reading salon modeled on the highly successful Influency series organised by Margaret Christakos in Toronto. We share her enthusiasm for critical engagement with poetry and her desire to foster a connection between writers and readers. Each night will feature: intro, original 30-minute lecture by the first poet(s) and a 30-minute reading by the other poet(s), followed by lively group discussion. Facilitators are Jordan Scott and Jason Christie.

Participants in RespondencyWest read a book of poetry each week to prepare for the evening`s guest poet and are encouraged to share responses and ideas during the class, over email, or by posting on the RespondencyWest blog. Cost $20-30 for entire series. If the cost is prohibitive, please let us know. We will not turn anyone away.
